Growing up in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago has definitely had a major influence on my photography style. I count myself fortunate to have been born amidst beaches, rivers, waterfalls and palm trees. My photography revolves around finding and showcasing beauty in the world. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, yet even the most eloquent photograph often falls short of capturing the magnificence of the environment. What I really enjoy the most isn't the obvious beauty, but the relentless pursuit of uncovering something wonderful in the mundane. Photos aren't always as they seem, and I've put together a before and after here and on my instagram of some of my images to get an idea of this.
Beyond the lens, island life has also had an impact on my career choices. I’ve grown up around all these solar, wind, and tidal energy sources, and my innate curiosity provided me with the impetus to study sustainable energy in Scotland. Ultimately, my photography and career both revolve around the environment, whether it’s showcasing spectacular scenery or sustainably developing it.
